- Container Refund Scheme
Helping Bundaberg Recycle
If you are looking to recycle your goods - simply take them to our refund point, located at 78 University Drive, Bundaberg. Make sure you visit the Containers for Change website here, where you will need to sign up for your scheme account before you receive your first refund.
IMPACT Community Services was successful in winning three contracts under the Container Refund Scheme (CRS) which commenced 1 November 2018 – refund point, processor and logistics contracts. The new scheme has required some significant changes to processes and infrastructure, and has resulted in the creation of a number of new jobs. If you are interested in cashing in your eligible containers, the process is very simple – you can take them out to the CRS shed (beside the Material Recovery Facility on University Drive) and we will count the containers for you and give you cash for your goods. If you are happy to just continue to put in your yellow top bins – that works for us as well as it will continue to be sorted by IMPACT’s workers. Either way, the key message is that we all need to continue to recycle.
Queensland is experiencing a recycling crisis involving soft plastic and residents of the Bundaberg Region are being called upon to play a part in finding a solution. Within the plastic category, Bundaberg Regional Council is asking residents to focus their recycling efforts on plastic bottles and jars. This could include milk bottles, peanut butter jars, water bottles or even cleaning product bottles.
