IMPACT Community Services is seeking a full-time Mentor based in Gin Gin to support job seekers through the Workforce Australia program. This role involves delivering pre-employment activities, resilience workshops, and one-on-one mentoring to assist clients in achieving their employment goals. About the role 

On a day-to-day basis, as part of our small team, you will:

  • Have frequent face to face, phone and digital contact with job seekers
  • Deliver work preparation activities with job seekers
  • Run resilience workshops and small group sessions on pre-employment readiness
  • Provide effective support through individual and group activities
  • Coordinate work experience activities
  • Support job seekers to increase skills through job search development, vocational assistance and career mentoring

To enjoy being a Mentor, you will have:

  • Relevant life experience or a demonstrated understanding of the barriers to education/employment experienced by people on Income Support
  • A track record in engaging customers, using active listening techniques to identify goals, strengths and obstacles to success
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with community service providers, community networks and employment services
  • Skills to coach and mentor customers to achieve goals and plans
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in maintaining electronic records
