Train face-to-face with industry professionals at IMPACT Community Services and gain hands-on experience in our fully equipped simulated ward environment.
This skill set is designed for new workers entering the disability sector, including parents and unpaid carers of NDIS participants.
It supports the development of essential induction skills for a variety of roles that assist and support people with disability.
Throughout this skill set, you'll develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to provide person-centred support to people with disability in community and residential settings. You'll learn how to support independence, encourage community participation and social inclusion, and use strengths-based approaches to help individuals achieve their goals.
Training also focuses on effective communication, working within the disability sector, and implementing behaviour support strategies that promote dignity, choice and quality of life. Through practical learning and vocational placement, you'll gain hands-on experience and apply your skills in real workplace environments.
