Xtreme Turnabout Youth Coach

IMPACT Community Services Limited (IMPACT) is a community owned organisation supporting the most vulnerable and marginalised members of our community. Since 1978,we have been supporting local people experiencing disadvantage, poverty and exclusion. Our vision is to improve lives. IMPACT is also a Child Safe Organisation committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people. 

Our Youth Coach supports young people aged 15 -19 who are engaged with Youth Justice Services or Queensland Corrective Services. The focus of the Xtreme Turnabout program is to stabilise the young person's situation and support their transition to training and work. This program has a strong track record and reputation, with the Youth Coach enjoying autonomy and creativity to help young people achieve positive outcomes. 

You make a difference every day by:

• Engaging with disconnected young people and helping them to identify their goals and any barriers
• Coordinating with education and community providers to source support services 
• Maintaining contact with clients and coaching  
• Delivering facilitated sessions to small groups of young people 
• Supporting youth in job search and improving their job search skills
• Providing post placement support

To enjoy being a Youth Coach, you will have:

• Relevant life experience or understanding of the barriers to employment for marginalised young people 
• The ability to influence young clients through effective working relationships
• Demonstrated experience in facilitating job search activities and delivery of non-vocational training in a small group environment 
• Sound knowledge of youth services and labour market opportunities in the the local area 
• Qualifications in youth or a relevant field will be well regarded
