About the Position

IMPACT Community Services is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Coach for our Xtreme Turnabout program in Bundaberg. This role involves delivering customised training to support young people aged 15-24 who are engaged with Youth Justice Services or Queensland Corrective Services. The Youth Coach will deliver services through one-on-one contact, group activities, training and placement support, and advocacy within clearly defined guidelines relevant to the Xtreme Turnabout contract.

As a Youth Coach, you will play a crucial role in helping young people gain nationally recognised skills and vocational qualifications up to and including a Certificate III level, ultimately aiding in their reintegration and reducing recidivism.

To make a difference in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant life experience and/or understanding of barriers to employment faced by marginalised youth
  • Sound knowledge of local youth services
  • Current knowledge of labour market conditions and opportunities
  • Ability to engage and influence clients
  • Experience in facilitating job search activities and delivering non-vocational training
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management and computer skills
  • Ability to develop strategies and session plans to assist clients
  • Experience in setting priorities, achieving outcomes, and maintaining productive networks
