About the opportunity

We are seeking a passionate Youth Worker for our HERE program based in Bundaberg. This is a part-time (15hrs a week) role where you will provide one on one mentoring, facilitate empowering group activities, and collaborate with community stakeholders such as schools and GPs to deliver holistic support across the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service catchment. On a day-to-day basis you will:

• Provide intensive support using evidence-based approaches.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of current contractual requirements and operational updates.
• Provide information and appropriate referral pathways to youth and their families.
• Establish and sustain community networks/partnerships to offer an integrated and holistic service to support youth
• Provide on-going support using evidence-based approaches
• Conduct the intake assessment processes using the STAR model (Situation, Task, Action and Result).

About you

You are the right fit for this role if you:

• A genuine drive to support the wellbeing of young people.
• Demonstrated experience working with youth, particularly those facing significant life challenges.
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and advocate for young people and their families.
• Excellent time management skills to manage caseload.
• High level written and oral communication skills to engage youth and their families.
• Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
