Course Overview

Kick-start your hospitality journey with this practical 3-day introductory course combining food safety awareness with basic café and barista skills.

Designed for job seekers and individuals considering a career in hospitality, this hands-on course introduces the essential hygiene and food handling practices required in food service environments while providing an opportunity to develop foundational café skills in a commercial kitchen setting.

Participants will learn how to work safely with food, prevent contamination, maintain personal hygiene standards, and understand their responsibilities under the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code. They will also gain exposure to café operations, including customer service, coffee preparation techniques, milk texturing, equipment use, and workplace cleaning procedures.

This course provides a supportive introduction to hospitality and can help learners build confidence, explore employment opportunities, and develop practical skills valued by cafés, restaurants, catering businesses, and other food service employers.
