ICHS Pop Up Care Clinic
IMPACT Community Health Service will operate a Pop Up Care Clinic over the Easter long weekend, from Friday 7 March to Monday April 10 2023.
What is the Care Clinic?
The Pop Up Care Clinic will treat non-life threatening medical emergencies, such as:
- Possible sprains or broken bones
- Minor cuts that need suturing
- Minor ear and eye problems
- Minor burns and scalds
- Minor illnesses – fever, infections and rashes
Our Pop Up Care Clinic is a walk-in service for people with minor illnesses and injuries who require immediate attention.
In a life-threatening emergency, you should always call 000
- ALL EMERGENCIES such as:
- Heart attack/chest pains
- Difficulty breathing
- Collapse/seizure/stroke
- Serious bleeding
- Serious head or neck injury
- Car accidents
- Severe stomach pain
- Severe burns
- Bleeding in pregnancy
- Serious mental health problems
- Poisoning or serious allergic reactions
When will the Pop Up Care Clinic be open?
The Pop Up Care Clinic will be open from 9am to 5pm from Friday 7 March to Monday April 10 inclusive.
Where will the Pop Up Care Clinic be located?
The clinic will run at the IMPACT Community Health Precinct at 2 Rafting Ground Road, Agnes Water.
Do I need an appointment to be seen at the Pop Up Care Clinic?
No! You do not need to make an appointment to be seen. Simply drop in to the IMPACT Community Health Precinct at 2 Rafting Ground Road, Agnes Water, during the clinic’s opening hours.
How much will it cost to be treated at the Pop Up Care Clinic?
We will ask you to pay an upfront fee based on the services that we provide. All services that we offer are fully Medicare rebatable by the Australian Government.
Will I be able to see a doctor if needed?
Yes, the clinic will be operated by Dr Dani Buchanan and a team of nurses.
How long will I have to wait?
Waiting times in the Pop Up Care Clinic will be longer when the service is busy and people will be seen in order of the most sick or injured.
Can I come to see the Doctor about routine health issues?
For any illnesses and injuries that are not urgent, you will need to make an appointment with your usual GP.
Can I get a prescription for my usual medications?
You should make an appointment with your usual GP for prescription medications.
Why is IMPACT running a Pop Up Care Clinic?
The Pop Up Care Clinic is being run as part of a broader project to better understand the needs of the growing community on the Discovery Coast, and how we can best support residents, visitors and medical and emergency services in accessing health care.
Why is this a Pop Up Clinic?
Our Pop Up Care Clinic is a one-off clinic specifically targeting the Easter weekend where there is limited access to doctors and pharmacy.
