"STRONGER TOGETHER" is a weekly column where Tanya explores key issues. This week Tanya discusses the key lessons from 2025: why resilience means balancing performance with recovery, the importance of intentional planning, and how prioritising wellbeing habits like hydration, movement, and reflection can set the foundation for a strong and purposeful start to 2026.

Every year teaches us something…if we pause long enough to listen.
For me, 2025 was a year of growth, recalibration, and a few hard-earned lessons.
One of the biggest? Resilience isn’t just about powering through – it’s about knowing when to pause.
This year reminded me that health and performance are deeply connected. When I neglect hydration, movement, or recovery, my body sends clear signals. It’s a simple truth: success isn’t sustainable without self-care.
Another lesson was the power of intentionality. Life rarely slows down on its own. If we don’t carve out time for reflection and rest, the year can feel like a blur of deadlines and demands.
Intentional planning, whether for a project, a holiday, or personal goals, creates space for clarity and progress.
So, how do we turn these lessons into action for 2026? Here’s what I’m committing to (and maybe these ideas will inspire your own):
2026 will bring its own challenges and opportunities. The difference lies in how we prepare.
For me, that means starting the year with clarity, energy, and an understanding that things won’t always go to plan; but recovery will remain my anchor when things get tough.
So, as we welcome 2026, I encourage you to take time to reflect on your own lessons from 2025. What worked? What didn’t? And most importantly, what will you do differently?
Because a great year doesn’t happen by chance – it’s built, one intentional choice at a time.
