The Heart of Community: ACVVS Volunteers Recognised for Their IMPACT

IMPACT Community Services is proud to celebrate the incredible contributions of its Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) volunteers with a special morning tea today, recognising their dedication as part of National Volunteer Week 2025.

Volunteers from Bundaberg, Childers, Gin Gin, Gayndah, and Monto have made a profound difference in the lives of older community members, offering companionship and connection to those at risk of social isolation. Each year volunteers complete thousands of visits—each one a moment of kindness, conversation, and care.

Today’s event honours these selfless individuals, many of whom have volunteered for several years.

“Our volunteers are the heart of this program,” said Heather Hinsbey, IMPACT’s ACVVS Coordinator. “Their presence brings joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging to so many."

“Every visit our volunteers make is a reminder that someone cares."
