Support Worker - Hervey Bay

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Family Mental Health Support Service. This role focuses on early intervention, supporting children and young people who are experiencing, or at risk of developing, mental health concerns, all while working from a beautiful office with sea views.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will deliver flexible, non-clinical support to children, young people and their families. You’ll help build resilience, improve wellbeing, and support meaningful changes in everyday life through both individual and group-based approaches.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

• Provide one-on-one support and facilitate group activities for children and young people
• Deliver flexible, responsive, early intervention support services
• Maintain accurate case notes and data records
• Build relationships with families and support networks
• Engage with the community to promote mental health awareness and early intervention

What you’ll bring

• Experience working with young people with mental health concerns, or relevant lived experience and understanding
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with children, young people and families
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to engage with the community and provide appropriate referrals
