We are seeking Lived Experience Peer Workers to join the team at IMPACT Community Services, supporting individuals across Bundaberg and surrounding rural communities. This is a Full-time Fixed term position till 30th June 2027.

As a Lived Experience Peer Worker, you will:

  • Use your lived experience to support individuals in their recovery and personal growth
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group programs
  • Travel to rural and community-based locations to deliver group sessions and outreach support
  • Build respectful, non-judgemental relationships
  • Support people to explore their values, goals, and direction
  • Work within a strengths-based, recovery-oriented framework

This role includes outreach to rural communities where access to support can be limited, offering a meaningful opportunity to make an impact where it is needed most.

To thrive in this role, you will bring a combination of lived experience, insight, and a genuine commitment to walking alongside others. This includes:

  • Lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery
  • The ability to reflect on and use your experiences meaningfully
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting others
  • The ability to work flexibly across different settings, including rural communities
  • A current driver’s licence
