The Nest is a safe and welcoming place where all people, families, and communities come together to be supported, respected, and valued. Guided by community voice and strong partnerships, we provide inclusive, culturally safe, connected services that improve the wellbeing of today and future generations.

At The Nest – Bundaberg Family Hub, a diverse network of programs and services come together to support individuals and families across all stages of life. From early childhood development and parenting support to mental health care, disability services, legal assistance, and education engagement, The Nest offers a holistic approach to wellbeing. Delivered in partnership with trusted local organisations, these services are designed to be accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the community, empowering people to thrive through connection, care, and opportunity.

Programs & Services available at The Nest during business hours:

IMPACT Community Services

Community Access (CA) and Community Navigator (CN): Aims to enhance the well-being and quality of life of individuals by promoting independence, community integration, skill development and personal growth. Assists people to navigate service systems through information and referral linkages.

Family Mental Health Support Services (FMHSS): Provides free early intervention supports for families with children and young people showing early signs of, or at risk of developing, mental health conditions.

Intensive Family Support (IFS): Provides holistic support to families to promote the family’s functioning, safety and wellbeing.

Hope, Empowerment, Resilience and Enablement (HERE): Supports young people aged 0 to 18 who are at risk of, or are currently experiencing, disengagement from education, friendships and family relationships. The program empowers them to work towards meaningful personal goals.

Foundations for Life (FFL): Antenatal and postnatal care with a qualified midwife.

Pathways to Early Learning and Development (PELD): Play, Explore, Learn, Develop. Focuses on children and parents participating together, promoting early learning and development. For families with children aged 0 to 5.

Positive Start Parenting Program (PS): Provides early intervention and prevention services to improve children’s development and wellbeing and support those in the parenting role. Focuses primarily on children aged 0 to 12 years.

Group Based Peer Recovery Support (GBPRS): Participant-led peer activities to increase participants’ connections with the community and others.

Bundaberg Education Precinct

Offers dedicated support one day a week for families navigating engagement with local schools. Provides a direct point of contact to answer questions, guide school transitions, and strengthen connections between families, schools and the wider community. Richmond Fellowship QLD (RFQ)

Delivers mental health support services focused on wellbeing, housing stability and community reintegration. No referral needed. Call or email to discuss eligibility for specific programs. Phone: (07) 3363 2560

Wide Bay Kids

Supports families and children through inclusive programs, resources and events that promote early development and community connection. Phone: 0410 443 202

Lives Lived Well

Pre- and post-outreach clinician for the Bundaberg Lives Lived Well residential rehabilitation service. Support clients during intake and assessment. Open referral. Self or third-party referrals accepted. Phone: 0473 877 854 Email: tamara.tei@liveslivedwell.org.au

Bundaberg Street Law

Offers free legal assistance to help people navigate legal systems and access support. No referral required. Walk-in access available. Email: admin@bundystreetlaw.com 

Smile Care Hub

Provides dental care and education to young children, promoting early oral health. Families can self-refer or be referred via early learning centres or services. Phone: 0404 647 132

Arafmi
