At IMPACT Community Services, we offer students a unique opportunity to acquire both a valuable qualification in Hospitality and practical, hands-on industry experience at our very own Fig Tree Café!

Our program empowers students to cultivate comprehensive skills and acquire practical experience in a dynamic canteen environment. Under the guidance of our experienced trainer, students are encouraged to demonstrate their initiative by bringing in their own recipes to try.

Throughout the program, they develop crucial behind-the-scenes skills, including time management, adherence to appropriate hygiene procedures, safe handling of equipment, budgeting and planning, and the cultivation of effective teamwork.

Leigh's teaching philosophy aligns closely with the values of the hospitality industry, emphasising the significance of teamwork and ensuring that no one gets left behind.

Guiding and inspiring hospitality students is a true passion of mine. Witnessing their growth, creativity, and dedication fuels my love for training in the vibrant world of hospitality.

Upon completing the SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality, our graduates often pursue roles as:

  • Kitchen Hand: Assist in food preparation, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.

  • Barista: Specialise in preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages.

  • Short Order Cook: Prepare and cook a range of simple dishes quickly, often in fast-paced settings.

  • Bar Attendant: Serve beverages, mix cocktails, and ensure a pleasant experience for customers at the bar.

  • Food & Beverage Attendant: Provide customer service, take orders, and serve food and beverages in restaurants or cafes.

  • Function Host: Coordinate and manage events, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

  • Waitperson: Serve customers in restaurants, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages to tables.

  • Restaurant Host: Greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and provide assistance in restaurant settings.
